Description
Kokuryuu Kamizake, known as Kam Kamazaki in English adaptations, serves as the narrative's primary antagonist. Sheltered after his mother's death at age four, he experienced minimal contact with his frequently absent father. Uragasumi, functioning as both bodyguard and chauffeur, stood as his sole childhood companion.

This early trauma forged an emotionally detached and cruel disposition. He exhibits no attachment to the Death Medarots (Kilobots) he designs, casually discarding obsolete units and destroying other children's Medarots or Medals without hesitation during Robattles. His philosophy fixates on creating supreme, emotionless combat machines to prove their superiority.

Obsessed with this goal, he leverages his position as supervisor of the Death Medarot Company's R&D division. He personally programs their operating systems and recruits children like Ginkai as testers. His methods involve manipulation, exploiting others' frustrations to promote Death Medarots, and purchasing loyalty through hardware gifts. He holds a warped perception of friendship, viewing associates solely as obligated tools.

Key conflicts arise from his persistent targeting of Ikki Tenryou and Metabee, whose strong partnership challenges his beliefs. He employs multiple Death Medarots, including Blossomail (Redrun) and later Blackbeetle (Blakbeetle). A turning point occurs when Ginkai, asked as a friend not to interfere, rebels upon realizing Kokuryuu's exploitation. Kokuryuu retaliates by crushing Ginkai's Unitris with Blossomail.

Despite Blackbeetle—an experimental model granted emotions and personality—demonstrating unwavering loyalty, Kokuryuu dismisses her as a failure after losses against Ikki. His relentless pursuit drives him to develop Grain (Gryphon), intending to transplant Blackbeetle's Medal despite knowing this would likely erase her identity.

Substantial development occurs in the climax. Activating Grain to destroy Metabee and allies ignites a crisis endangering his life. He is rescued by the very Medarots he sought to eliminate, notably Blackbeetle, who temporarily seizes Grain's body to save him. This act profoundly impacts Kokuryuu. Hospitalized afterward, he reunites with Blackbeetle in her original body. Uragasumi informs him of his father's impending visit, signaling potential reconciliation. Kokuryuu ultimately renounces his philosophy, accepts Blackbeetle as a genuine partner, and befriends Ikki and others.
