Description
Hatoko Daikanyama is a famous Japanese pop star idol initially presented as an antagonist working under Takashi, also known as Shooting Star. Her stage persona sharply contrasts with her secret identity as the villain Dark Pigeon, operating alongside Jun Gotokuji and Miyama Soshigaya as part of Takashi's team targeting the Cyber Team and their Pata-Pis.
Prior to aligning with Takashi, she faced significant career frustrations as an idol and actress. A notable incident involved an emotional outburst on set where she refused to eat a shitake mushroom during a scene, causing production halts and physical altercations with her manager and co-star. This event highlighted her diva-like behavior and professional dissatisfaction, contributing to her vulnerability when Takashi recruited her after a chance meeting at a hot spring.
In her first major appearance as Dark Pigeon, she lured the Cyber Team members—Hibari, Suzume, and Tsugumi—into a trap during a Pata-Pi contest by disguising her Homunculus minions as concert attendees. She summoned her avian-themed avatar, Cockatrice, which attacked with aerial mobility and laser blasts from its mouth. The Cyber Team's Divas defeated Cockatrice, cracking its head and forcing Hatoko to retreat. Later, she adopted the Apostolus suit Beelzebub, enhancing her combat capabilities with laser-firing pink pigeons named "Cuckoo number 1" and "Cuckoo number 2." These abilities allowed her to temporarily incapacitate Divas like Hestia and revert them to Pata-Pi forms in subsequent confrontations.
Hatoko harbored a deep, unrequited admiration for Takashi, shared with Jun and Miyama. This loyalty drove her actions until Takashi's disappearance triggered a significant shift. She eventually revealed her dual identity to Tsugumi—a devoted fan who idolized her as "Hatopeon"—causing Tsugumi considerable shock. Following this revelation, Hatoko defected from her villainous role and joined Jun and Miyama to form the heroic Sibyl Team of Akihabara, aiding the Cyber Team against greater threats like Hisho and her Diva army.
Her visual design features long orange hair tied in twin ponytails, green eyes, and a distinctive gold belly-button piercing. As a pop idol, she wears a red-and-white tiered tube dress with pink accessories. Her Dark Pigeon guise consists of a pink-feathered black bomber jacket, skirt, thigh-high socks, a wing-shaped mask, a heart-shaped bell collar, and matching gloves. The Beelzebub Apostolus suit combines pink-and-black armor with a helmet and mask.
Her background includes an ironic connection to Tsugumi, whose room is filled with Hatoko merchandise and posters, unaware of her idol's antagonistic alter ego until the revelation. This dynamic bridges her public persona and hidden motives. Her name, incorporating "hato" (pigeon), thematically aligns with her avian-themed villain identity and fighting entities.
