Description
Laster is an Autobot Brainmaster from the Victory continuity, originating from Planet V. He possesses a calm and observant personality, constantly watching others due to being anti-social rather than duty. This detachment causes unease among his fellow Autobots. Embodying versatility as the "Brain of Skill," Laster functions as the all-rounder of the Brainmaster trio. While not matching Blacker's raw strength or Braver's scientific intellect, he evades traps with veteran agility and invents practical devices like the "Flasher" blinding weapon to aid Autobot operations against the Decepticons.
He transforms into a yellow Lamborghini Countach sports car. In vehicle mode, spinning his wheels at high speed activates integrated climate-control systems to unleash the "Brain Blizzard Storm," freezing enemies with sub-zero temperatures. His smallest robot component, the Brain of Skill, merges with a larger Transtector body to form his full robot mode, where he wields a black sword. Road Caesar's foot component can serve as his shield, and Road Caesar's fist functions as a handheld firearm.
Throughout the Victory conflict, Laster engages in numerous battles under Autobot Supreme Commander Star Saber. Key actions include defending Earth's Lunar Base against the Dinoforce, rescuing Wingwaver from Decepticon ambushes, and participating in energy-plant skirmishes. He devises tactical innovations, such as reconfigured sonic drills to infiltrate the Neo Uranium Mines. During a desert ambush by the Breastforce, Laster and Braver became immobilized in quicksand-like terrain, requiring extraction by Star Saber. Later, Laster constructed the "Illumina II" exosuit for Star Saber's adopted human son, Jan Minakaze. In the final confrontation against Deathsaurus's Planet-Destroying Fortress, injuries prevented his direct combat participation, though he witnessed the fortress's destruction.
Laster combines with fellow Brainmasters Blacker and Braver to form the triple-combiner Road Caesar, constituting its right leg. This combined form battles adversaries like Dinoking and Liokaiser, utilizing the "Brain Wheel Shocker" energy-ring attack. Post-war, Laster, Blacker, and Braver were appointed joint commanders of the Sector One defense force. They later appeared in their combined form during Star Saber's transfer of leadership to Dai Atlas in the Zone continuity.
Beyond the Victory anime, Laster appeared in the Legends comic, fighting the human terrorist group Concurrence and their Viper drones alongside Greatshot. His toy profile originally listed uniform stats but was later corrected to emphasize his skill (10/10), with lower strength (8/10) and firepower (8/10). The figure included a Brainmaster pilot, sword, and combinable Road Caesar components.
