OVA
Description
Bruticus forms when the Combaticons—Onslaught, Blast Off, Vortex, Brawl, and Swindle—merge. These Decepticons originated from repurposed World War II-era vehicles, enhanced by Starscream using extracted personality components from imprisoned renegade Decepticons on Cybertron. Their combination occurs via sockets in Onslaught's shoulders and feet, finalized with additional armor plating and a helmet. The resulting Bruticus wields Onslaught's sonic stun-gun as his primary weapon.

Ranking among the strongest combiners, Bruticus can pulverize a suspension bridge with a single punch delivering 14,000 psi of force and lift 500,000 pounds. His armor resists conventional artillery and radiation. Despite this power, his combined intelligence remains rudimentary. Though technical specifications indicated inactivity without orders, he demonstrates independent action, attacking human cities and engaging in combat autonomously.

In the Scramble City OVA, the Combaticons arrive under Starscream's command to reinforce the Stunticon combiner Menasor during an assault on the Autobots' mobile fortress construction site. After Menasor destabilizes the Autobot combiner Superion by forcibly attaching one of his own limbs to him, the Combaticons merge into Bruticus to join the battle. Bruticus and Menasor overwhelm Superion until the completed Autobot fortress transforms into the city-sized Metroplex, who defeats both combiners with a single cannon blast. The confrontation concludes with the emergence of the Decepticon city Trypticon from the ocean.

Animation during the battle includes technical errors related to the "Scramble Power" limb-swapping. When Menasor reconfigures his limbs, Bruticus's component robots are miscolored: Breakdown appears maroon instead of blue, Drag Strip off-white instead of yellow, and Wildrider colored like Dead End. These inconsistencies persist throughout the battle scenes, complicating visual identification of limb assignments.

Bruticus's role remains confined to this appearance within the Scramble City narrative.
