Description
Fireflight serves as an Autobot Aerialbot, defined by his childlike wonder and frequent mid-flight distractions. This trait regularly triggers near collisions and navigational risks, rendering him an aerial liability despite his earnest intentions. Teammates recognize his innocent fascination with the world below yet struggle to depend on him during critical operations due to consistent inattentiveness.
During the Decepticon assault on Metroplex in "Scramble City: Mobilization," Fireflight joins the Aerialbots to form Superion against Menasor. The battle showcases "Scramble Power," enabling combiner limb swaps for tactical adjustments. Confused during one such maneuver, Fireflight fails to attach properly as Superion’s leg. This error allows the Stunticon Wildrider to latch onto Superion, immobilizing the gestalt until Optimus Prime dislodges Wildrider, permitting Fireflight’s correct recombination.
Fireflight transforms into a red and white F-4 Phantom II jet, achieving Mach 2.0 speeds with a 1,000-mile range. His jet mode deploys "fire-fog" missiles that disperse flammable mist, while his robot mode wields a photon displacer gun distorting enemy vision through light-wave manipulation. He combines with Silverbolt, Air Raid, Skydive, and Slingshot as Superion, functioning as one limb.
His flaws arise directly from his personality: preoccupation with aerial sights induces erratic flight patterns, spiking fuel consumption and endangering nearby aircraft or ground units. These weaknesses persist unresolved through "Scramble City," as the narrative concludes abruptly following Trypticon’s emergence without sequels addressing outcomes.
