In the anime adaptation, the biblical figure Joshua, referred to as 'Josué-velho', is portrayed as Moses' son and successor to lead the Israelites after Moses' death. God reveals to Moses that he will see the Promised Land but not enter it, appointing Joshua as the new leader.

Joshua assumes command as the Israelites approach Jericho’s fortified and impregnable walls. Confronted by this obstacle, he receives divine instructions through a messenger: Joshua must lead the Israelites to circle Jericho’s walls for seven days, accompanied by seven priests blowing trumpets crafted from rams’ horns. The messenger assures him the walls will collapse on the seventh day.

Joshua obeys the directive, commanding the Israelites to march around the walls while sounding the horns. His adherence to the plan causes Jericho’s walls to crumble, fulfilling the divine promise and delivering the city to the Israelites.
