Description
Commander Belzeb leads the Jaaku Empire's third-dimensional invasion force under Emperor Warusa's command, tasked with conquering Earth. His strategy hinges on deploying Akudama—eggs of darkness that hatch into Evil Beasts born from human annoyances and frustrations. Operating from an orbiting space fortress, Belzeb is routinely accompanied by his subordinate Taida and the pixie-like Felzeb, who dwells within his chest cavity.
Belzeb initiates the conflict by launching a missile to blanket Earth with Akudama. Guardian Eldran and the Raijin-Oh robot interfere, damaging the mecha and forcing it to Earth, but the missile scatters Akudama uncontrollably. Repeated defeats inflicted by the Earth Defense Class piloting Raijin-Oh draw Emperor Warusa's ire. Warusa provides Belzeb with the formidable mecha Jaku Satan to bolster his efforts. Belzeb then begins fusing Jaku Satan with Evil Beasts to create even more powerful Super Evil Beasts.
Despite this enhancement, Belzeb's struggles against the Earth Defense Class persist. His consistent failures strain his standing with Warusa, who increasingly deems him expendable. Under mounting pressure, Belzeb escalates his tactics, attempting to locate the enemy base through methods like student kidnappings and deploying Jaku Satan for town surveillance. During the final confrontation, Belzeb nearly achieves victory by separating God Raijin-Oh and almost destroying Jin and Ken-Oh. However, the pilots' collective willpower reverses the tide, resulting in Jaku Satan's destruction and Warusa's defeat.
Following the empire's collapse, Belzeb confronts the pilots one final time in the OVA sequel. He casts a spell trapping Jin, Asuka, and Kouji in a dream where Raijin-Oh is forgotten, aiming to break their spirits mentally after physical defeat failed. This "Battle in the Center of the Mind" backfires when the pilots remain resolute. Belzeb emotionally breaks down, tearfully acknowledges his opponents' strength, accepts his defeat, and departs Earth peacefully without further conflict.
