Description
Lamune Baba begins as an average Japanese elementary schooler, academically challenged yet exceptionally skilled at video games. His life shifts dramatically after buying "King Sccasher" from a mysterious girl, Princess Milk. Upon finishing the game, Milk transports him to Hara-Hara World, revealing his lineage as a blood descendant of the legendary hero Lamuness, destined to battle the evil Don Harumage.
In this new world, he partners with Tama-Q, a spherical advisor robot that rides on his shoulder. Tama-Q facilitates his transformation into Lamuness and summons the Humongous Mecha King Sccasher (or King Squasher) by consuming coins. Lamune displays a hot-blooded, impulsive nature, frequently exclaiming catchphrases like "Ore wa mouretsu ni [X] shiteru!" ("Right now, I am incredibly [X]!"), often expressing embarrassment or surprise. He is susceptible to pretty faces, a weakness enemies exploit. Despite occasional incompetence, like struggling with controls, his gaming expertise allows him to master King Sccasher's combat quickly.
His journey involves defending Adventure Towns alongside allies including Milk, Cocoa, and former adversaries Da Cider and Leska (Milk's sister), whom he inspires to defect from Don Harumage. Romantic tension develops with Milk, characterized by frequent arguments and tsundere dynamics. His heroism culminates in coordinating the Sacred Sisters' combined energy attack to defeat Don Harumage.
Post-NG Knight, the EX OVA shows him back on Earth with amnesia about Hara-Hara World, living an ordinary life until remnants of Don Harumage's forces threaten Tokyo. Milk and Leska find him to restore his memories and fight this resurgence, though Cocoa handles most mechanical defenses. The DX OVA reveals his enduring flirtatiousness, provoking Milk's wrath by attempting to rescue two scantily clad women.
Years later, in VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire, he marries Milk and fathers Baba Lamunade. As Lamunade becomes the hero against Abraham, Lamune and Milk covertly protect their son as the costumed duo "Akakaze" and "Momokaze," hiding their identities. They exhibit exaggerated affection and lethargy, contrasting their past energy. His legacy includes a restriction: heroes of his lineage lose their powers at age 18. In the anime continuity, he participates in a final sacrificial act with Milk and the Sacred Sisters, channeling energy to imprison Abraham at the cost of petrification, a state later reversed.
