Description
Miyako Negishi, known as Neko, navigates university life in Tokyo as a literature student while concealing her telekinetic abilities—a secret burden stemming from past traumas that force her into self-imposed isolation. Her guarded nature fractures only when defending personal boundaries or wielding her hidden powers, revealing flashes of steely resolve.

Her existence upends when she and two classmates—Haruka Saiki, a teleporter, and Keiichiro Yamagishi, a shapeshifter—are thrust into a medieval realm. There, she is proclaimed the reincarnation of Princess Neryulla, a warrior prophesied to free the subjugated Naka no Kuni from the despot Duran III. Reluctantly, Neko shoulders leadership, driven by duty and an awakening instinct to shield others.

Guided by the world’s latent magic, her telekinesis intensifies as she forges alliances with the warrior Towado and Princess Dimida of Higashi no Kuni, clashes with foes like Commander Altire, and grapples with fears that her powers estrange allies. A trial in Hiyoka Forest forces her to confront spectral echoes of past anguish, crystallizing her resolve to lead despite lingering doubts about her identity as Neryulla.

The conflict culminates in toppling Duran III, a tyrant manipulating war for amusement. Returning to Tokyo, Neko ponders whether her odyssey symbolized breaking internal barriers—a notion echoed in a manuscript from Princess Dimida framing her trials as metaphors for dismantling emotional walls.

Notable elements include her Gokudo dinosaur charm, which morphs into a pivotal weapon, and a smoking habit adopted in the fantasy realm to tether herself to reality. Bonds with figures like the priest Ladin—exposed as Duran III—deepen her wariness of trust yet reinforce her guarded empathy.

The character originates solely from a 1986 film/OVA adaptation.
