During a visit to Fuuko's racing team, she threw a wrench that struck his forehead, leaving a cross-shaped scar resembling the Southern Cross constellation. This scar reappears during high-tension moments despite surgical healing.

Initially, Shinkuro raced Mini 4WDs alone, rejecting teams and pursuing individual supremacy. His technical expertise focused on maximizing top speed through complex modifications, often prioritizing performance over structural integrity. After racing Yonkuro Hinomaru, he abandoned his solitary approach, joined the Dash Warriors, and formed lasting friendships, especially with childhood companion Kouji "Punkuro" Jimi. He demonstrates fierce loyalty, worrying intensely when Punkuro disappears during races. Despite his confident demeanor, he harbors a fear of ghosts.

His racing machines evolved:

* In the original manga and anime, he piloted the Dash-3 Shooting Star, noted for specialized on-road performance and a one-time installation of a CVT-like "Super-V System." This car sustained damage from collisions due to chassis modifications.
* The sequel *Hyper Dash! Yonkuro* depicted the Shooting Star's destruction in a rear-end collision with Yonkuro's Emperor, prompting a switch to the Shooting Proud Star. The original body was later repurposed for the Shooting Proud Star's "33" configuration.
