Description
Abandoned as a child, Bat was raised by his adoptive mother Toyo alongside other orphans. To lessen Toyo's burden, he left his village vowing to return successful. Struggling alone in the wasteland, he survived by stealing until caught attempting theft in Lin's village and imprisoned. There, he met Kenshiro and observed the power of Hokuto Shinken during their escape. Pragmatically viewing Kenshiro as protection, Bat appointed himself Kenshiro's sidekick.
Lacking martial arts training, Bat proved resourceful with gadgets and skilled at driving a dune buggy across the wastelands. Initially brash and hardened by the post-apocalyptic world, he matured through Kenshiro's battles and principles. He developed a protective, brotherly bond with Lin and witnessed Kenshiro's confrontations with Shin and the Hokuto brothers.
After a timeskip, an adult Bat co-founded the Hokuto Army with Lin to resist oppressors like Jakou's Imperial Army and the Celestial Emperor's forces. As co-leader, he coordinated tactical operations against corrupt regimes, including the Tentei's army. His combat skills remained basic but included rudimentary Hokuto Shinken techniques learned indirectly, supplemented by conventional weapons.
Bat harbored longstanding affection for Lin. When Kaioh's Shikanhaku pressure point forced Lin to love her captor, Bat selflessly urged Kenshiro to redirect her affection. After her rescue, Kenshiro entrusted Lin to Bat, believing Bat could make her happy. They became a couple and married. Consumed by guilt over Lin's manipulated emotions, Bat used his fragmented Hokuto Shinken knowledge to induce amnesia, erasing her memories of their relationship.
Later, Bat discovered an amnesiac Kenshiro and orchestrated a reunion with Lin. He then impersonated Kenshiro to confront Bolge, a vengeful enemy. Bolge captured, tortured, and mutilated Bat. Kenshiro arrived, regained his memories during the battle, and defeated Bolge, but Bat sustained mortal wounds. Dying, Bat expressed his wish for Kenshiro and Lin to be together. Lin chose to stay with Bat's body. Kenshiro revived Bat using Hokuto Shinken pressure points, allowing Bat and Lin to live as husband and wife.
Bat's journey transformed him from opportunistic thief to selfless leader, defined by loyalty to Kenshiro, devotion to Lin, and ultimate sacrifice for their happiness. His legacy included foundational contributions to establishing and operating the Hokuto Army.
