Description
Prince Zordar reigns as the supreme ruler of the White Comet Empire, a tyrannical alien force from beyond the Milky Way. His empire operates from within the mobile fortress Gatlantis, disguised as a white comet, having conquered the entire Andromeda Galaxy before targeting Earth for annexation.
Ruled by megalomania and chilling ruthlessness, Zordar aspires to universal domination, viewing himself as an omnipotent ruler holding celestial bodies in his grasp. He displays extreme arrogance and shows no hesitation in annihilating planets or enslaving populations, his only known fear emerging when confronted by Teresa, a powerful being from Telezart opposing his conquest.
Discovering the defeated Gamilas leader Dessler adrift, Zordar revived him and forged an alliance, granting Dessler a flagship and forces to pursue vengeance against the Yamato crew. This decision caused friction within Zordar's court, particularly from his consort Sabera. Despite tensions, Zordar maintained strategic control over the invasion, deploying fleets under commanders like Gorand, Zurvival, and Valsey to eliminate resistance.
The Earth invasion employed overwhelming force. After crushing Earth's defense fleets, including destroying the EDF flagship Andromeda, Zordar personally oversaw the planetary assault from his dreadnought, the "Portent of Darkness." He deployed a magma flame cannon to bombard Earth's surface indiscriminately, targeting cities to demonstrate power and compel surrender.
When the Yamato infiltrated Gatlantis and destroyed its core, Zordar escaped in his dreadnought. He continued his assault while taunting the Yamato's survivors. His defeat came when Teresa intervened, using her anti-matter energy to amplify the Yamato's self-destruct sequence. Confronted by Teresa's power, Zordar displayed uncharacteristic terror and attempted to flee before being engulfed in the explosion that destroyed both ships.
In the alternate continuity of the *Yamato 2* television series, Zordar remained the Comet Empire's leader but avoided the kamikaze fate depicted in the film, featuring an older appearance with boots and a bulkier physique.
