Description
Daisy Brooke is the daughter of Margaret "Meg" March Brooke and John Brooke, and the twin sister of John "Demi" Brooke. She is the granddaughter of Robert and Margaret "Marmee" March, and the niece of Josephine "Jo" Bhaer, Amy Laurence, and the late Beth March. She has a younger sister named Josephine "Josie" Brooke.

Raised at Plumfield boarding school under her aunt Jo and Professor Friedrich Bhaer, Daisy displays a gentle and obedient nature from an early age, contrasting with her adventurous twin. Initial loneliness, stemming from exclusion by the boys, leads Jo to provide her with a miniature kitchen for domestic play. Her isolation lessens with the arrival of Nan Harding, who becomes her closest female friend.

Physically resembling her mother Meg, Daisy has long, silky dark blond hair, light blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and fair skin. She is often depicted wearing pink attire. Her personality centers on domesticity; she delights in cooking, cleaning, sewing, and caring for her dolls. Described as "sunshiny and charming," she struggles to express opinions to avoid conflict, especially with loved ones. Her gentle nature and innocence draw comparisons to her late aunt Beth.

A significant development involves her relationship with Nathaniel "Nat" Blake, a shy, musically gifted orphan at Plumfield. Their childhood friendship evolves into mutual romantic affection. Daisy's mother Meg initially opposes the match, believing Nat too weak for her, but relents after witnessing his growth during studies in Germany, further influenced by her son Demi's engagement. Daisy patiently awaits Nat's return, and they eventually marry.

Within Plumfield, Daisy serves as the "Girly Girl" counterpart to Nan's "Tomboy," frequently engaging in traditionally feminine activities while Nan joins the boys in sports and mischief. Despite their differences, they share a close bond, with Daisy teaching Nan domestic skills. Daisy and Demi are often portrayed as the most reasonable students among their peers.
