Eud endures harsh labor under the masked factory manager Morlock in the oppressive city of Balthus. Driven by a thirst for freedom, he escapes with Tia, finding temporary refuge in the peaceful village of Le-jeute. This respite proves short-lived as Morlock's forces recapture them. Separated from Tia, Eud is confined to a desolate cave as punishment. The narrative establishes Eud as a figure of resistance against Balthus's oppression.
