Description
Gai "Guy" Shishiô started his career as a human astronaut and test pilot for the Space Development Corporation. During an experimental shuttle test in orbit in 2003, an extraterrestrial object designated EI-01 collided with his craft, leaving him critically injured. The mechanical lion Galeon intervened, destroying EI-01 and rescuing Guy, delivering him to Earth. To save his life, Guy's father, Dr. Leo Shishiô, utilized technology derived from Galeon to rebuild Guy's body into a cyborg form powered by a G-Stone mechanical heart. Though revived, he was legally declared deceased.
As a cyborg, Guy joined the defense organization Gutsy Geoid Guard (GGG) as commander of its Mobile Unit, operating alongside his former high school sweetheart, Mikoto Utsugi. On missions, he utilized "Ultimate Armor" and entered "E-quip mode," featuring a data-gathering lens over his right eye. His left arm bore a GaoBrace housing his G-Stone energy source and a sheath for his Will Knife—a G-Stone blade whose sharpness depended on his willpower. The GaoBrace allowed him to summon Galeon via a Projection Beam. In emergencies, Guy activated a golden "Hyper Mode" using energy batteries, boosting his combat capabilities for precisely three minutes. While self-identifying as "mankind's strongest Cyborg," his body required significant recovery time after battles, especially after using his Hell and Heaven technique. He could also operate briefly in space.
Following the battle against Zonuda, Guy's cyborg body became infected through Matter Sublimation. Unconsciously utilizing abilities provided by Mamoru Amami, Guy performed Purification, reverting himself and Mikoto to human forms while absorbing the G-Stone from his GaoBrace. This transformed him into an "Evoluder," surpassing human limits. As an Evoluder, he retained superhuman strength, gained indefinite space survivability, flight via a green-glowing state, and direct machine interfacing ("Evolual Ul-Tech"). He piloted mechanoids like PhantomGao, GaoFighGar, and Genesic GaoGaiGar through this connection, with GaoFighGar mirroring his movements even when severely damaged. A distinctive "G" symbol manifested on his hands when using Evoluder abilities. Piloting Genesic GaoGaiGar made him a "Genesic server," displaying pulsing white circuitry across his body that linked him to the mecha's systems, leaving him vulnerable to infection by Chemical Nanomachines via these circuits.
During events in the Trinary Solar System, Guy was exposed to Triple Zero energy within the Universal Embryo. His partial G-Stone composition initially resisted mental corruption, but the energy remained within him, threatening eventual degradation. After other Braves were purified, Lamia and Somniums accelerated Guy's corruption to extract the Triple Zero. This process also removed microscopic G-Stones from his cells, consolidating them into an Animus Fruit. Consequently, Guy reverted to a "Semi-Evoluder" state similar to Mikoto, retaining some enhancements but lacking full Evoluder capabilities.
Key relationships include his later wife Mikoto Utsugi; close ally Mamoru Amami; parents Leo and Kizuna Shishiô; uncle Liger Shishiô; cousins Renais Kerdif-Shishiô and Shigeru Akamatsu; and niece Sakura.
