Description
Maki Aikawa, a member of Nishi High School's tennis club, is Hiromi Oka's closest friend. Both joined the club inspired by admiration for the top player, Reika Ryuzaki. When Hiromi faced bullying and exclusion from club members like Kyoko Otowa, perceived as Coach Munakata's favorite despite her inexperience, Maki stood as her sole consistent ally within the group. Maki provided crucial emotional support throughout these difficulties, practicing with Hiromi outside club hours, offering encouragement during low points, and spending time with her socially, such as eating out after tough days.

Unlike others, Maki felt no envy towards Hiromi's rapid improvement or Coach Munakata's special attention. Her loyalty remained steadfast even as Hiromi evolved into a formidable player and potential rival to Reika. Maki eventually chose to quit playing tennis herself but continued supporting Hiromi by attending her matches and cheering from the sidelines. Characterized by her consistently upbeat and energetic personality, Maki served as a source of positivity and lightheartedness, often lifting Hiromi's spirits during intense drama or bullying. Her role is defined by unwavering friendship and support for Hiromi, both within the tennis club and in their personal lives.
