TV-Series
Description
Elchi Cargo, daughter of trader Carrying Cargo, initially pursued arts and culture across the desert planet rather than her father's trade. After Timp Sharon's attack kills her father, she inherits command of the landship Iron Gear and its vital transporter license, forcing her into leadership despite her disinterest and inexperience.
She rejects marriage proposals from former crewman Kid Horla, prompting his betrayal and transformation into a recurring enemy. As captain, she must negotiate trade with the technologically advanced, resource-controlling elite, the Innocent, while managing conflicts within her diverse crew, including Jiron Amos and the Sand Rats bandits. Her leadership evolves through logistical trials and battles against Breakers hired by the Innocent.
Mid-series, the Innocent capture her. Using hypnotic blue lights and sensory manipulation, they surgically overwrite her personality, creating an obsession with destroying the Iron Gear and killing Jiron. In this state, she pilots Walker Machines and commands a duplicate Iron Gear against her former allies. Sympathetic Innocent leader Arthur Rank sacrifices himself to reverse the brainwashing, restoring her original mind.
During the final assault on the Innocent stronghold at X Point, she confronts antagonist Kashim King in a Xabungle unit. An exploding missile damages her eyesight, causing permanent blindness. Believing her disability a burden, she attempts to leave the Iron Gear but is persuaded to return by Jiron. The compilation film *Xabungle Graffiti* offers an alternate ending where Arthur Rank survives, rescues her, and they depart together, leaving Rag Uralo to form a relationship with Jiron.
Physically, she has green hair and blue eyes, commonly wearing a headband, hairclip, and boots. Her relationships include unreciprocated feelings for Innocent overseer Biel and being the focal point of Fatman Big's devotion.
