Description
Marina Sakurano, a fifteen-year-old Rinkai Academy student, begins as the football team manager before her singing passion propels her into the school’s idol spotlight. Adopted by scientist Daizaburo Higashiyama, a key ally of the Hibiki family, she enters the conflict against the Demon Empire unprepared for combat, often becoming a kidnapping target requiring rescue by the protagonist. Through perseverance, she hones her skills, rises to lead the Copelander Corps, and pilots the Bluegear mecha after its original pilot’s injury.
Her curiosity and kindness mask a fiery temper and initial jealousy toward Rei Asuka, her romantic rival for the protagonist’s affections. Over time, she channels this intensity into growth, forging an alliance with Rei within the Copelander Corps while evolving her unrequited crush into a reciprocal romance marked by mutual protection and matured self-assurance.
Later media, including *Raideen vs. Raiga: Men and Monsters*, reframes her as the protagonist’s childhood friend and eventual wife. Her mature physique reflects her cheerleading background, accentuated by waist-length brown hair and glasses. She participates in cross-franchise conflicts like *Gamera vs. the Dark General* and the *Kaiju World War* duology, while her empathetic bonds shine through comforting moments with Princess Lemuria and the protagonist’s mother, cementing her dual role as frontline leader and emotional cornerstone.
