Kentarou Kamui is the father of Akira and Ai Kamui, whose wife Reiko left the family for an unknown reason before the series begins. He possesses immense physical strength but consistently displays foolish behavior. His reckless actions frequently complicate situations and hinder group efforts, fulfilling a comedic relief role centered on brute force rather than intellect.

He belongs to the Kamui family in Hokkaido, one of three lineages entrusted with protecting a legacy involving the Zenon Guardians and their battleships. This heritage includes a descriptive map piece guiding the discovery of buried technology. Kentarou becomes a pilot of the Tri-Zenon robot alongside his sons and Kanna Uryuu aboard the battleship Shinonome.

During the conflict against the Zenon Empire, Kentarou encounters life-threatening danger, including a near-fatal incident aboard the Akatsuki in Episode 10. His participation aids in uniting the three Zenon Guardians to combat the alien invasion. No official media beyond the main series documents his presence.
