Description
Romina Ladorio, sometimes called Rowena or Romina Radrio, is the princess and future Empress of the planet Ladorio. Approximately 15 to 16 years old, she possesses striking silvery-lavender hair, a slender build, and distinctive blue eyes often filled with sadness. Her peaceful homeworld suffered violent conquest by the Zaboom army, compelling her to flee aboard the spaceship Xenos 5, also known as the Ellshanc. This escape was a mission directly entrusted by her parents: to find Earth "ninjas" capable of piloting Ladorio's three super robots transported on the ship, accompanied by her close companions Jade and Icelander.
Modest and sincere, Romina maintains a brave, composed public face despite profound personal losses, including her parents, her homeworld, and later Icelander. Privately, she experiences deep grief and frequently sheds tears. She highly values loyalty, showing unwavering commitment to friends and expecting the same, evident in her interactions with the human protagonists Joe, Jenny, and Mike whom she recruits on Mars.
Her development centers on relationships and the escalating conflict. She forms a significant bond with Joe Maya, who falls in love with her. Romina gradually reciprocates, leading to mutual understanding and romance. She actively supports Joe, even risking her life for him, willing to transcend her royal status for those she cares about. This romance creates tension with Jenny, who also loves Joe. Romina directly addresses this conflict by confessing her love for Joe to Jenny, prompting them to set aside differences temporarily for the common fight.
Romina navigates complex dynamics, particularly with Icelander. His unrequited love and subsequent betrayal—including a near-fatal hesitation when offered power for her life—create significant emotional strain. Despite his departure from the Xenos 5 and alignment with antagonists, Romina remains central to his motivations. His eventual mortal injury leads to a deathbed confession of his feelings. Under war's pressures, her role evolves as she balances leadership responsibilities, emotional vulnerability, and the strategic demands of liberating Ladorio from Zaboom occupation.
