OVA
Description
Yuli emerges as a young child amidst the initial conflict against the Dynasty. He displays an energetic and often impulsive nature typical of his age, frequently acting without fully weighing dangers. His strong admiration for the armored warriors, especially Ryo Sanada, borders on hero-worship. This devotion drives him to assist the group whenever possible, though he frequently expresses frustration when excluded from missions for his safety. He eventually understands these exclusions are protective.
His appearance evolves across the narrative. During the main series, he typically wears a yellow sweater over a turquoise shirt, navy shorts, and sneakers. In Gaiden, set during summer 1989 shortly after Ryo's birthday, his attire shifts to a white shirt, denim shorts, and white sneakers – an outfit maintained in Legend of the Inferno Armor. Later, during an Africa trip within the same OVA, he adopts a yellow shirt, a white and blue polka-dot ascot, white shorts with red suspenders, and brown loafers. By the events of Message years later, he appears as a young adolescent competing in and winning a kendo tournament, wearing the traditional uniform.
Yuli plays a significant role in Gaiden. After the warriors discover Sage is missing and the Halo armor wreaks havoc in New York, he accompanies Mia and Rowen to investigate. They visit a news company and a university, concluding Sage has been taken hostage. The next day, Yuli and Mia are captured by Shikaisen's henchmen and taken to the prison holding Sage. During the final confrontation, Yuli helps distract Shikaisen, enabling the warriors to summon the Inferno armor and defeat the enemy.
His relationships are marked by loyalty and affection. He maintains a particularly close bond with Ryo, consistently favoring and supporting him. He shares a playful rapport with Kento, sometimes teasing him about his large appetite, likely informed by Kento's experience with younger siblings. Yuli often stays near Mia, assisting her with research or tasks. A strong companionship exists with the white tiger, White Blaze, with whom he spends considerable time outside battles. Yuli is also the most receptive to Anubis's change of allegiance before the others accept it.
Beyond conflicts, he enjoys skateboarding and playing with White Blaze, later developing an interest in kendo. He dislikes studying and carrots. While his aging is minimal between Talpa's defeat and the battle against Mukala, he experiences a noticeable growth spurt by the time of Message.
