Description
Kei Yuki serves as navigator and science officer aboard the starship Arcadia. Her past holds deep tragedy: her scientist father died in a government-ignored lab accident, and her grief-stricken mother perished soon after, orphaning her. She was once engaged to Kazuya Katagiri, who betrayed her by confessing his role in her father’s death and his allegiance to the alien Mazone invaders; Kei played a farewell song before shooting him.

Before joining the Arcadia, she assaulted a military officer mocking her father’s death, leading to her arrest. Captain Harlock freed her during prison transport, offering her a place on his ship. She accepted, becoming one of its youngest crew members and dedicating herself to the vessel and its captain. Initially operating radar and navigation systems, her expertise allowed her to anticipate enemy tactics in combat.

After the original crew disbanded, Kei captained the Fluorite until Earth’s forces captured and sentenced her crew to execution. The Arcadia rescued them, and Kei reclaimed her role and signature uniform. During conflicts against the demonic Noo, she supervised impulsive crewmate Tadashi Daiba. Taking a bullet for him, she fell into a coma. A Noo spirit possessed her body to sabotage the Arcadia’s systems while her consciousness uncovered Noo secrets in limbo. Daiba exorcised the spirit, restoring her.

In alternate continuities like the 2013 CG film, Kei distrusted new recruit Yama under her supervision but accepted his aid during critical missions, including vibration bomb deployment. After Yama’s exposure as a spy, she allied with him to free the crew and battle oppression.

Physically willowy with shoulder-length blonde hair and brown eyes, Kei wears a pink jumpsuit with black accents, bloomers, boots, gloves, and a skull emblem. In combat, she dons brass-powered armor and wields dual guns with agile tactical skill.

Personality-wise, she evolved from a positive crew mediator into a serious strategist, maintaining fierce loyalty to Harlock and Arcadia’s ideals of freedom. Post-betrayal, she grew cautious in relationships but remained protective of allies. In spin-offs like Siren’s Port, she investigated corruption under aliases like "Mayu Oyama," showing maternal instincts toward the vulnerable while chafing against urban confinement.

Her surname "Yuki" means "Existing Record," symbolizing resilience and parental legacy; "Kei" translates to "firefly," reflecting her guiding light and passionate resolve.
