Description
Seppukumaru is an alien sportsman who journeyed across the cosmos mastering countless athletic disciplines. He harbors a defining obsession: viewing seppuku, the ritual suicide, as the ultimate extreme sport and striving to be its first true master. Crucially, his biology contains an internal bomb with planet-destroying potential. To avert disaster, his own underlings imprisoned him using barriers erected on the moons of Planet Impact.
Within *Ganbare Goemon Kirakira Dōchū: Boku ga Dancer ni Natta Wake*, Seppukumaru conquers Planet Impact, seizes its four moons, and traps the planet itself within a barrier. He commands four egg-shaped henchmen, the Four Tsujikiri, who enforce his rule on the Desert, Forest, Ice, and Water Moons, each themed to a different sport. After Goemon's team dismantles the barriers and confronts him, their final battle erupts in space. Seppukumaru hurls massive metallic spheres at the giant robot Impact in a destructive game of catch, damaging his own ship until it collapses. Facing defeat, he attempts a final seppuku maneuver, plummeting towards Planet Impact to destroy it upon death. Impact intercepts him mid-fall, but Seppukumaru escapes after discovering seppuku isn't recognized as a legitimate sport.
In the anime continuity, Seppukumaru serves as a primary commander under the demon lord Makuamuuge, directing the Four Tsujikiri in campaigns to conquer both the game world and the human world. His strategy manipulates human rage and fear to fill a "rage gauge," enabling monster summoning and advancing Makuamuuge's invasion. After repeated failures against Goemon, he habitually requests Makuamuuge's permission to commit seppuku, only to be consistently denied with "Absolutely not!" and banished to the Muuge hole for training. His chronic inadequacy leads to his replacement as head commander by Dr. Mudanashi; the Tsujikiri dismissively bid him farewell.
In combat, Seppukumaru displays significant physical strength, fighting effectively in deep space unaided. He wields a tantō and relies on brute force. He once employed a flute to summon birds for harassment. He also harnesses the power of the "rage gauge," using it to ensnare adversaries like the police.
His personality blends extreme vanity—frequently proclaiming himself "the sexiest man from both worlds"—with persistent determination to defeat Goemon, despite suffering repeated defeats and humiliations.
