TV-Series
Description
Rand, a Sol Cat (or Sol Leon), displays leonine features and solar motifs embodying the astronomical sign of the sun in Leo's house. The name "Rand," derived from the Anglo-Saxon term for "wolf shield," contrasts with his feline nature.

He manifests as Jin's demon partner when Jin and his friends recite an incantation from the "Akuma Compendium" in their school library, transporting them to Valhalla. Rand serves as Jin's primary combat ally and tactical advisor, guiding their journey to confront the Imperial Army and restore peace by recovering the shattered Time Chain. Demonstrating fierce loyalty, Rand shields Jin from danger and battles antagonists like Barbatos, Haborym, and Emperor Azrael.

Rand evolves; his form and abilities shift based on Jin's choices. Initially a Sol Cat, he gains light-based powers in Valhalla. During *Devil Children: Fire Book*, an angelic attack reverts him to his base form, stripping these powers until Mephisto's intervention restores them. In *Devil Children: Messiah Riser*, he achieves a Dark Cat evolution after battling Hecatoncheir, enhancing his combat prowess.

Beyond the main series, Rand appears in spin-offs like *Devil Children Puzzle de Call!*, where he ventures into a microscopic world to rescue Jin and Akira by solving puzzles and recruiting other demons. His protective instincts remain consistent, including scenes where Jin rides on his back during high-stakes battles.
