TV-Series
Description
Sago Hyperdevil is one of the three Chosen Enterrans guiding Yakumo to Shinzo. His elemental water affiliation earns him nicknames like "Water Boy" from adversaries. Representing the Dragon and the East, he possesses a Celestial Gem embedded in his helmet, granting transformative abilities and enabling his fusion with Mushra and Kutal to form Mushrambo.
Initially mischievous and impulsive, Sago's demeanor stabilizes under Yakumo's influence. He demonstrates loyalty and strategic cunning in combat. His base form exhibits superhuman physical traits and proficiency with a double-edged blade. Activating Hyper Form—triggered by intense emotion or threat—grants him potent water-based powers: unleashing high-pressure vortexes (Aqua Tornado), throwing circular water blades (Aqua Blade), and summoning massive water dragons (Aqua Dragon). This form boosts his durability and attack potency to multi-city block levels. A mid-series upgrade manifests dragon-like wings, enabling flight and amplifying his water manipulation further.
Key moments include shredding spider-Enterran webs to save Yakumo, collaborating with Hakuba to escape Insect King Daku's brainwashing, and orchestrating a petrol-fueled fire to sabotage Daku's castle. His ultimate sacrifice occurs against Snake King Gyasa, allowing Mushra to absorb his card to form Mushrambo. This act dissolves him temporarily, though he later reappears in reset timelines.
In Season 2's revised timeline, Sago initially dismisses Binka's quest and Yakumo's significance, focusing on gambling. His memories of Yakumo and Shinzo remain suppressed until Binka's capture by Kadrian forces triggers his reawakening. Empowered by his Celestial Gem, he reattains Hyper Form and aids in defeating the Kadrians. He later participates in the battle against Rusephine and Satan Mushrambo, culminating in Golden Mushrambo's creation. Following Satan Mushrambo's defeat, Sago fades from existence once more, leaving his gem with Yakumo.
A minor continuity discrepancy notes his hair color beneath the helmet: light brown with blond highlights in one instance, light bluish in another, suggesting timeline variations.
