Description
August Samuel Wahlen rose to the rank of high admiral within the Galactic Empire's fleet under Reinhard von Lohengramm. Born in 767 UC (458 IC / 3567 CE), he achieved lieutenant commander by 792 UC (483 IC / 3592 CE). During this period, he served as first officer aboard the cruiser *Hässliche Entlein* under Captain Reinhard von Müsel (later Lohengramm). That December, Wahlen assisted Reinhard in recovering a stolen directional Seffle particle generator prototype from defecting noble Count Herxheimer.

Wahlen joined Reinhard's admiralty upon its formation in 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE). His first major engagement was the Battle of Amritsar (or Amlitzer), where he ambushed and destroyed the Free Planets Alliance's 3rd Fleet (alternatively recorded as the 8th Fleet). He subsequently fought in the Lippstadt Rebellion, operating alongside Siegfried Kircheis and Cornelius Lutz at the Battle of Kifeuser (or Kyffhäuser), and later at the Battle of Vermilion against the Alliance.

Commanding the Imperial assault on Earth to subjugate the Terraist Church in 799 UC (1 NIC / 490 IC / 3599 CE), Wahlen was stabbed in the left arm by a Terraist fanatic wielding a poisoned knife. Falling into a coma necessitated the arm's amputation. Following the operation, he met Alliance representatives Julian Mintz, Louis Machungo, and Olivier Poplin, facilitating Julian's journey to Odin. He participated in the Second Battle of Rantemario in 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE), where an explosion from a direct hit by Oskar von Reuenthal's fleet destroyed his prosthetic arm.

Throughout these campaigns, Wahlen commanded from the battleship *Salamander*, equipped with ventral claws for terrestrial landings, utilized during the Earth assault. The vessel sustained damage in Reuenthal's rebellion but remained operational. Wahlen also appeared aiding Reinhard and Kircheis during the Retriever arc within *Spiral Labyrinth* on a mission into Alliance territory.

Personally, Wahlen had at least one son cared for by his parents during his deployments. After Reinhard's death in 801 UC (3 NIC / 492 IC / 3601 CE), Wahlen was among those recommended for promotion to fleet admiral.
