Description
Eriko Tamura, the sole daughter of Tamura Productions chairman Yuusuke Tamura and former idol Minako Tamura, displays natural singing talent from infancy. Raised in privilege, she treats household staff and animals kindly, especially her poodles Fortissimo and Pianissimo. Her life fractures when a car accident kills her father and leaves her mother comatose, forcing her into the custody of uncle Kosuke.
Defying her parents' wishes, she pursues singing after their tragedy. Kosuke initially grooms her as an idol but systematically sabotages her career through non-consensual grueling training, engineering her school expulsion via missed classes, framing her in scandals to tarnish her image, and endangering her physically during concerts. These trials expose her to the idol industry's harsh realities—exploitative practices, public slut-shaming, and relentless media scrutiny.
Her character transforms from a fragile, sheltered girl prone to emotional breakdowns into a resilient, assertive figure. She confronts rival Rei Asagiri after enduring hostility, persists through equipment failures and vocal strain, and performs despite crises like her mother’s temporary amnesia post-coma. Her growth culminates in nationwide fame while retaining core kindness.
Relationships define her journey: a rivalry-turned-friendship with Rei Asagiri, forged through shared hardships and revealed familial ties; steadfast bonds with friends Yasuko and childhood friend Kazuki Uchida (an implied romantic interest); and loyalty from staff like chauffeur Karasawa Ijuuin. She connects compassionately with fans, dissuading a suicidal listener on radio and comforting hospitalized child Fuyumi.
Minako’s recovery—initially complicated by amnesia—leads to her managing Eriko’s career and reclaiming Tamura Productions from Kosuke, whose eventual redemption sees him aiding the family.
Eriko’s personality merges innate compassion with unwavering dedication. She prioritizes fan safety during crises like seaquakes, advocates for others despite personal risk, and channels passion for music to persevere through industry challenges, slander, and betrayal.
Visually, she has blonde hair and blue eyes contrasting her Japanese parents’ darker features, often styled in girlish pigtails. Her idol wardrobe features pastel colors (predominantly pink), frilly or spandex outfits, bows, and cheerful accessories.
