Description
Tamashiro Kakure, president of Skull Lease's Western Ostendel Branch, serves as a secondary antagonist. His calm, serious demeanor contrasts sharply with the comically inept Northern Ostendel Branch trio led by Mun-Mun, who resents him for frequently highlighting her failures. Skull Lease head Con Cordo initially uses Tamashiro's competence to underscore the Northern Branch's inadequacies.
His involvement escalates after witnessing Sokkyu Gou deflect missiles with psychic waves on a private beach, leading him to suspect Gou is the hero Ippatsuman. Undergoing secret training to eliminate Ippatsuman independently, Tamashiro later uses diamond-tipped bullets to seemingly kill Ippatsuman and destroy the Gyakuten-Oh mecha, though the Northern Branch trio claims credit. This victory proves hollow when the "Ippatsuman" killed is revealed as a psychically controlled robot; Gou survives with critical injuries.
Tamashiro intensifies his campaign against Ippatsuman and the Time Lease from episode 40 onward. His tactics include assassination attempts on Gou and Time Lease director Haruka (a psychic), and efforts to steal Psychic Robot suit data. These involve extreme measures like time travel to assassinate Haruka as a child and setting inescapable traps, forcing Haruka to temporarily become Ippatsuman to rescue Gou. Despite a strategic approach, Tamashiro proves ineffective in direct confrontations, and his reputation as a cunning businessman deteriorates.
Investigations by Gou, Haruka, and the Clean Aku trio uncover that the original Tamashiro was a portly individual who died from malnutrition after a drastic weight-loss attempt involving self-confinement with heaters without food or water. When confronted, Tamashiro dismisses this but is troubled by his inability to recall his past. Later, a laser pierces his chest during a confrontation; he recovers minutes later despite a gaping wound and no blood loss, revealing his non-human physiology.
Simultaneous discoveries by Tamashiro, the Time Lease, and the Clean Aku trio reveal he is a cyborg revived by Skull Lease with erased memories. Con Cordo orchestrated this to create an untraceable pawn for managing Skull Lease and countering Ippatsuman. Distraught and furious at being manipulated, Tamashiro continues targeting Ippatsuman as his sole purpose. After Skull Lease's bankruptcy and the acquisition of Psychic Robot data through other means, Tamashiro's final failure to eliminate Ippatsuman leads Con Cordo to abandon him. She reveals her true alien form and exiles him to drift eternally through time and space. Before exile, Tamashiro fires missiles that destroy the Skull Lease base, though this act has no lasting impact.
