Raizo Mine is the husband of Shizuka Mine, father of Sayaka Mine, and son of Fuji Mine. He runs his own kendo dojo as a master of the art. Raizo shares a longstanding rivalry with Kenjuro Kurogane, stemming from their past as kendo competitors. He first encounters Kenjuro and Yaiba Kurogane upon their arrival at Narita Airport in Tokyo. Recognizing Kenjuro immediately, Raizo attempts to challenge him to a duel, but Kenjuro evades him by quickly ushering everyone into a taxi to avoid airport police. The group proceeds to the Mine family residence. Later, Raizo appears in a crossover where his treasured sword becomes the target of Kaitou Kid. He hires Kogoro Mouri for protection and ultimately thanks Shinichi Kudo for recovering the sword after Kid's defeat. Raizo's involvement occurs primarily during Yaiba's initial arrival in Tokyo. He does not accompany Yaiba on subsequent adventures but provides a home base through his daughter Sayaka. His character remains consistent as a traditional kendo practitioner focused on maintaining his dojo and his familial responsibilities.
