Libra Dohko, known as the Maestro dei Cinque Picchi (Old Master), survived the 18th-century Holy War against Hades as one of two Gold Saints alongside Aries Shion. Athena granted him *Misopetha-menos* (*Hanshi*), drastically slowing his heart rate to extend his life across centuries. This preservation aged his appearance while leaving his combat abilities undiminished. He resided at China's Five Peaks of Mount Lu, guarding the seal imprisoning Hades' Specters and mentoring Dragon Shiryu, whom he raised as a surrogate son with an orphan girl named Shunrei. In the 20th century, Dohko served Athena's Saints as a strategic advisor, leveraging centuries of wisdom. He distanced himself from the Sanctuary after Pope Shion's assassination, suspecting imposture. Sensing Hades' seal breaking, he returned to the Sanctuary and confronted Shion, resurrected under Hades' control. Taunted about his aged body, Dohko deliberately ended *Misopetha-menos*, restoring his youthful form—athletic build, reddish-brown hair, no elderly traits—while retaining his experience and tactical mind. As Libra Gold Saint, Dohko judged justice within the Sanctuary. His Cloth contained twelve unique weapons (swords, shields, nunchaku, etc.), usable only with his authorization. His signature technique, *Rozan Hyakuryu Ha* (Mount Lu One Hundred Dragons Force), manifested energy dragons. He wielded telepathy and telekinesis. A tiger tattoo on his back, visible when he unleashed his cosmos, symbolized his destined guardianship of Libra and represented duality contrasting Shiryu's dragon motif. During the *Hades Chapter – Sanctuary*, Dohko reignited the Sanctuary's flame clock after Shion's betrayal. He later guided Shiryu, Hyoga, and Shun to attain the Eighth Sense for entering the Underworld alive. His final act united the spirits of all twelve Gold Saints to destroy the Wailing Wall barring Elysion, sacrificing their lives to advance Athena's forces. Prequel narratives explore Dohko's earlier life. *Saint Seiya: Next Dimension* depicts his training as a Bronze Saint alongside Shion and Crateris Suikyo before his appointment as Libra Gold Saint. On a mission to assassinate Hades' vessel, Alone, he encountered future pupil Shiryu, who time-traveled to aid Athena. *Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas* offers an alternate continuity, showing Dohko as a former member of China's Taonia warrior sect before becoming a Saint. He trained Pegasus Tenma and fought in the 18th-century war, sacrificing himself by impalement through the heart to delay Hades (possessing Alone) and protect allies during Hades' castle's invasion.
