Description
Campanellino, also known as Tinker Bell, serves as Peter Pan's fairy companion in the 1989 anime series "The Adventures of Peter Pan." She remains true to J.M. Barrie's original creation: a tinker fairy who mends pots and kettles and communicates solely through the sound of tinkling bells. Her personality is fiercely loyal yet volatile, particularly in her devotion to Peter Pan. This loyalty fuels intense jealousy toward Wendy Darling, whom she sees as a rival for Peter's attention. Driven by this jealousy, she manipulates the Lost Boys into shooting Wendy, nearly causing her death. Despite such actions, her dedication to Peter's safety is absolute, culminating in her sacrificing herself to save him from Captain Hook's bomb, an act which inflicts fatal injuries. Her survival depends on the belief of others, as fairies revive from near-death through applause and belief.
Physically, she is a small, slender fairy with fair skin, blonde hair typically secured in a bun, blue eyes, and distinctive elf-like ears. She wears a green strapless dress and possesses translucent, butterfly-like wings enabling flight. Her entire body glows a fiery red when angered. A core aspect of her abilities involves producing pixie dust, which grants flight to herself and others who maintain "wonderful thoughts." This dust also facilitates Peter Pan's journeys between Neverland and London.
Within the anime, her role remains consistent as a catalyst for conflict due to her jealousy, a devoted protector of Peter, and a magical entity integral to Neverland. Her portrayal does not introduce unique story arcs or developmental milestones beyond established adaptations.
