TV-Series
Description
Shiegra, a lioness from L. Frank Baum's literary universe adapted into anime, inhabits the Forest of Burzee alongside immortals and mythical beings. She possesses gold-and-white fur, a pink nose, a black tail tuft, and amber eyes, reflecting African lioness traits.
Ak, the Master Woodsman, entrusts Shiegra with nurturing an abandoned human infant discovered in Burzee. She accepts this responsibility, recognizing the child's importance. Herb the Unicorn joins her as a protector under Ak's arrangement. When the wood nymph Necile intervenes to claim the infant, Shiegra and Herb object, but Ak permits Necile to raise the child—later named Claus—while allowing them continued protective duties.
As Claus matures, Shiegra maintains her guardian role. Upon his departure from Burzee to live among humans in the Laughing Valley, she participates in his farewells with the immortals. Her narrative concludes in old age when she seeks Claus one final time. During this visit, Claus carves a wooden likeness of her. Observing the toy, Shiegra acknowledges its craftsmanship before departing. She dies shortly thereafter. The toy remains Claus's enduring memento and inspires his creation of animal-themed gifts for children.
