A woman once lived in a mountain village during a time of great scarcity. While pregnant with her son, she devoured every fish she caught, prioritizing her unborn child's sustenance over sharing with her hungry neighbors. This perceived greed invoked a supernatural punishment: transformation into a dragon. Cursed by her community for neglecting collective welfare, she was exiled to a remote lake. Her dragon existence stretched through years, separated from the son raised by his grandmother. The pivotal reunion came when her son, Taro, discovered the lake. During their meeting, she recounted her story, explicitly linking her metamorphosis to her failure to share resources while pregnant. Moved by Taro's vision to alleviate the villagers' suffering, she joined him in a critical act. Together, they targeted the massive boulder damming the lake, intending to release its waters. The resulting flood would inundate the valley below, creating fertile lowlands for rice cultivation and ensuring sustainable prosperity for many communities. The immense physical effort required to shatter the boulder proved catastrophic for her dragon form, causing severe bodily damage as the dam broke. After the successful release of the lake waters, her dragon body vanished, seeming to signify death from the sacrifice. However, this ultimate selfless act for the greater good broke the curse. She was restored to human form, her life seemingly returned as a consequence of enabling widespread agricultural benefit through the newly created wetlands. Her restoration signified redemption achieved by facilitating communal prosperity.
