Description
Milord rules as feudal lord over a medieval French village, wielding absolute authority. He imposes oppressive systems, including exorbitant marriage taxes. When newlyweds Jeanne and Jean cannot pay, Milord invokes the droit du seigneur to claim Jeanne's wedding night. He personally participates in her gang rape alongside his courtiers during a castle ritual.

His tyranny extends beyond sexual violence. Milord declares war to expand his lands, levying crippling taxes that devastate the village. He appoints Jean as tax collector, but later amputates Jean's hand as punishment for failing to extract sufficient funds. After returning victorious, Milord and his wife, the Baroness, grow envious of Jeanne's rising influence and wealth. They publicly accuse her of witchcraft, inciting the villagers against her.

Later, when Jeanne gains supernatural powers and cures a plague outbreak, Milord attempts to co-opt her influence. He sends Jean to invite her to the castle and offers her the position of second-highest noble in exchange for sharing her cure. She rejects this, declaring her ambition to rule the world. In response, Milord imprisons her and sentences her to execution by burning at the stake. He orders his soldiers to kill Jean when he attempts to intervene.

Milord's actions directly catalyze the villagers' rebellion. During Jeanne's execution, the villagers' faces transform into hers, symbolizing the spread of her defiant spirit. This transformation foreshadows the French Revolution centuries later as the ultimate consequence of his oppressive rule.
