This unconventional childhood resulted in energetic, impulsive behavior and limited familiarity with human societal norms. Twins Riki and Gaku Muroi and their grandfather, Dr. Goken Muroi, facilitated her relocation to Minato-machi, Japan, where she was adopted by a couple running a grocery store.

An incident during the flight to Japan transported her to "Lovely Dream," a frozen realm where dreams originate. There, the Fairy Queen, appearing as a butterfly, granted her a magical golden headband. Activated by the command "Papurikko," it summoned a baton bridging the human world and Lovely Dream. Using the transformation phrase "Perukko Raburin Kurukuru Rinkuru," Persia could assume an older, teenage alter ego with elongated hot-pink hair, contrasting her usual scruffy blue hair and childlike appearance. Assisted by three kappa companions—Gera Gera, Meso Meso, and Puri Puri—her mission involved collecting love energy to restore warmth to Lovely Dream. Failure risked transforming those she loved into girls or freezing them.

In Japan, her wild behavior clashed with cultural expectations, though she remained fiercely loyal, empathetic, and protective. Initially displaying a precocious crush on both Muroi twins, she later recognized romantic feelings specifically for Gaku, creating tension with rival Yoyoko Manabe. Her magical abilities occasionally caused disruptions, such as illegally transporting Simba to Japan and magically altering him into a talking cat. The kappa frequently admonished her irresponsible magic use, reflecting her gradual maturation in balancing ordinary life with supernatural duties.

Her relationships included a sisterly bond with best friend Sayo Mitomo (Riki's girlfriend) and adversarial interactions with Yoyoko, who envied her athletic prowess and connection to Gaku. Across the series, Persia evolved from a naive wild child to someone acknowledging emotional complexity and responsibility, culminating in a romantic relationship with Gaku.
