Description
Bradley "Rad" White grew up shadowing his scientist parents at the Cosmoscope Research Center near Lincoln, Nebraska. A phantom glimpse of Transformers and Mini-Cons during a childhood car ride sparked an intense curiosity, often propelling Rad into risky adventures with his friend Carlos, requiring cautious oversight from their level-headed friend Alexis. His parents hoped he would channel this drive into science like them.

At age twelve, Rad and Carlos explored caves under a local observatory, finding an ancient alien structure. Ignoring Carlos's warning, Rad touched a glowing green pentagonal artifact, unintentionally reactivating a dormant Mini-Con starship. Its signal alerted the Autobots and Decepticons on Cybertron to the Mini-Cons' Earth location, reigniting their war. Amidst the chaos, Rad, Carlos, and Alexis met the Street Action Mini-Con Team—High Wire, Grindor, and Sureshock—with High Wire bonding closely with Rad. The trio became vital human allies to the Autobots, aiding in Mini-Con searches across diverse locations from Antarctica to subterranean tunnels. Optimus Prime later entrusted Rad with the Mini-Con Laserbeak for reconnaissance.

Rad wrestled with guilt over triggering the conflict, though Optimus Prime reassured him his intentions were noble. His developing moral compass emerged when he prioritized rescuing animals over a mission during a Decepticon-triggered forest fire. Yet, impulsiveness lingered, like bringing Mini-Cons to a carnival, causing a security breach requiring Autobot intervention. He faced direct peril, held captive on the Decepticon-aligned Mini-Con Destruction Team's moonbase and strapped to a bomb before rescue.

Attempting to confide in his parents about the war met initial skepticism. However, his father deduced the truth after witnessing the Autobot ship Axalon launch, encouraging Rad to pursue his path safely. Rad then joined the Autobots' mission to Cybertron for the final confrontation against Unicron. During this battle, Rad and his friends were hurled through time, inadvertently convincing the nascent Mini-Cons to flee Cybertron, setting the series' events in motion.

By 2020, Rad lived on Cybertron as Dr. Brian Jones's assistant. He activated the planet's energon grid defense during an attack. Tension flared when Alexis, Dr. Jones's daughter, attempted a heartfelt goodbye before leaving for Earth. Rad brushed it aside, causing her visible distress. Their unresolved relationship faced a crisis when an attack by Battle Ravage caused explosions seemingly harming Alexis; she survived, leading to an emotional reunion where Rad urged her to safety. By 2030, Rad, Carlos, and Alexis attended the launch of ancient Cybertronian colony ships.

Across continuities like the Dreamwave comics, Rad's unnamed parents were researchers at the Cosmoscope. Rad similarly reactivated the Mini-Con ship, drawing the Transformers. Alexis advocated informing his parents after hiding Mini-Cons in their garage, but Rad and Carlos vehemently opposed. Rad faced identical peril on the Mini-Con moonbase, strapped to a bomb before rescue. Later, during an attack, his dismissive response to Alexis's tender farewell attempt upset her, though they reconciled amidst chaos.
