Description
Gegantet appears in the 1995 short film "2112: The Birth of Doraemon" as a dog-shaped automaton student at the robot academy, serving as a classmate to Doraemon within a group of robotic caretakers-in-training. He exhibits significant gluttony, consistently consuming larger portions than other robots during academy meals. Academically, Gegantet performs poorly alongside Doraemon and the parrot automaton Sunekuchi, frequently failing tests and facing punishment from their instructor for incorrect answers. He assumes a bullying role, teaming with Sunekuchi to taunt Doraemon as a "substandard product" and attempting to forcibly take his 4-dimensional pocket, leading to a physical chase halted only by Noramyako's intervention. During the Robot Audition event, Gegantet demonstrates a disastrously off-key singing voice that causes widespread audience distress until Doraemon fires a "Singing Bird Bun" gadget into his mouth, temporarily altering his pitch. Despite this setback, Gegantet secures audience approval and gains employment after graduation. His character design, bullying tendencies, lack of academic prowess, and terrible singing serve as direct counterparts to the main series character Takeshi "Gian" Goda, positioning him as a 22nd-century analogue. Gegantet has no documented appearances or development in other Doraemon media.
