TV-Series
Description
Iyona Kawai, a classmate of Honmaru Edojo at Nanno Elementary School, exhibits an elegant demeanor and kindhearted nature. Hailing from a wealthy family, she consistently achieves top academic performance in her class while demonstrating athletic skill. Her appearance features brown eyes and brown hair, typically styled with accessories like ribbons or bows. She wears standard school attire comprising a white serafuku with a pink sailor collar and bowtie, paired with a pleated skirt. Alternative documented outfits include a school swimsuit, a cheerleader uniform with pom-poms, and traditional miko attire featuring a red hakama.

She serves as the primary object of Honmaru's affection; her feelings toward him remain ambiguous yet potentially positive beneath her reserved exterior. Her interactions with the summoned magician Taruruto reflect a nurturing attitude, treating him as a surrogate younger brother and using the affectionate nickname "Taru-chan" — a contrast to other characters' more formal or casual address of Taruruto.

Throughout the series and its film adaptations, she maintains a consistent role. Her personality avoids the mean-spirited tendencies of her friend Rui Ijigawa, instead emphasizing purity and compassion. She remains supportive during conflicts involving bullies like Jabao Jaba, Tsutomu Harako, and Nezo Zakenja, though her direct involvement in major plot developments is limited.

Her character shows no significant evolution or expanded backstory across manga, anime episodes, or films. Her narrative function centers on representing stability and kindness amid the chaotic dynamics driven by Taruruto's magic and Honmaru's misadventures.
