Description
Rum serves as the Living Doll face for Shadow Shirley, originating from Mirrorside Village where she excelled academically yet remained profoundly shy and isolated. She adopted her name from her childhood toy rabbit’s ribbon, Rummy, after Shirley neglected to provide one. A blue ribbon from that toy, tied around her left index finger, functions as an imaginary companion named "Lamy" to alleviate her loneliness.

Rum possesses short curly dark hair, tan skin, and gray eyes, clad in a Victorian-style maid uniform. Her timid nature hindered interaction, even with Shirley, resulting in minimal bonding before their Debut. This stunted Shirley’s personality development. Though dismissed as "useless," Rum exhibits a photographic memory, mastering mental calculations and map memorization.

During the Debut, Edward trapped Shirley beneath poisonous flowers in the garden labyrinth. Rum rescued her, marking their first significant contact. Fleeing, Shirley disintegrated into soot after briefly clasping Rum’s hand, her life force underdeveloped. Rum failed the Debut, demoted to a "Faceless Doll" or "Veiled Doll." Edward confiscated and destroyed her ribbon.

Shirley survived as a morph—a sentient miniature form roughly 7 cm tall—retaining her lavender ribbon. She recovered Rum’s destroyed ribbon, fusing with it to become a sentient accessory on Rum’s finger, enabling telepathic communication. Utilizing morph abilities, Shirley scouts the mansion undetected, scales walls, and shapeshifts into small objects like scorch marks. She thwarts brainwashing attempts by hiding in Rum’s mouth to intercept soot-laced coffee.

Post-Debut, Rum and Shirley covertly aid Kate’s rebellion. Rum’s memory and analysis decode patterns and map the mansion, while Shirley gathers intelligence. Shirley directs John to rescue Emilico and Kate during Edward’s kidnapping, relaying intel via interpretive dances or concise soot writing. Their partnership matures into mutual reliance: Shirley supplies emotional support and stealth, Rum delivers tactical insight.
