Description
Yoshigai anchors professional wrestling broadcasts across multiple story arcs, his character inspired by the creators' real-life neighbor, Yoshio Yoshigai. He debuted announcing the 20th Chojin Olympics alongside color commentator Tazahama, maintaining a serious tone throughout the tournament despite Tazahama's comedic interruptions and antics. He returned in the same role for the 21st Chojin Olympics, again partnered with Tazahama and enduring his eccentricities.
During the "Scramble for the Throne" storyline, Sekiguchi briefly replaced Yoshigai as announcer. In the sequel series, Yoshigai resumed his position as the regular match announcer. His new color commentator, Nakano, presented a fresh challenge with unpredictable and wacky conduct distinct from Tazahama's style. The anime adaptation significantly altered Yoshigai's original manga design, modifying his hairstyle and overall appearance. His theme song is "Moero! Hōsō Seki (Burning Announcer's Chair)" by Takayuki Miyauchi.
