Description
Sniper, later adopting the alias Murder S, commands Riki's pack in the Ōu mountains. A black Doberman with brown eyes, he wears a red collar in the manga and a spiked grey collar in the anime. Severe injuries later alter his appearance: crushed hind legs are replaced by artificial steel limbs, while head trauma results in a metal plate covering the right side of his skull, lacking an ear and eye. His body becomes heavily scarred, and his eyes occasionally appear blue instead of brown.

Cold, serious, and power-hungry, Sniper obsesses over becoming pack leader. His ruthlessness manifests through aggression and bullying, such as mistreating his subordinate Ben. Greed drives him to conspire against Riki and target Gin as a threat to his ambitions. He employs underhanded tactics, including espionage via his minion Hyena and assassination attempts against rivals. When accused of cowardice, he deflects blame.

Initially, Sniper belittles Gin upon meeting him and attacks him for perceived disrespect toward Riki. He later sabotages recruitment missions with Hyena, killing a dog named Lloyd and framing others. After defeat by Gin, he retreats but resurfaces during the final battle against Akakabuto. There, he attempts to drown Ben in a river, kills Hyena when interrupted, and disappears after the struggle.

Years later, physically disabled and reliant on a carriage, Sniper reemerges as Murder S. Rescued and rehabilitated by a human woman, he kills her upon recovery. He trains assassins like Lecter and Thunder, then allies with antagonist Hōgen to destroy Gin and conquer Ōu. Hōgen buries him alive to test loyalty; Sniper pledges fealty and becomes his strategist and commander. Forced to walk on his steel legs after his carriage breaks, he adapts them into bladed weapons. He kills Stone, a subordinate of Hōgen’s rival Kamakiri, in a duel.

Sniper later kills a dog resembling Gin to deceive Hōgen, then relentlessly pursues the real Gin. He battles Gin’s son Weed, who severely wounds him and dislodges his head plate. After escaping, he resurfaces in the final Ōu battle, saving Hōgen by mortally wounding Tesshin. Confronting Gin in a gorge, he falls into a deep hole and attempts to drag Weed down. When Weed resists and orders him drowned, Sniper releases his grip and vanishes underwater, implied to have drowned.
