Description
Chutora, a Kai Ken with brown fur, black stripes, and amber eyes, is marked by his missing right ear. He serves as the middle brother in the trio with Akatora and Kurotora. Abandoned as a one-month-old puppy in a mountain box with his siblings, they endured a snake attack, killing and consuming the serpent for survival. A subsequent marten assault cost Kurotora an eye and tore off Chutora's right ear. Ben rescued them, providing food and teaching cooperation, forging their fierce independence and unbreakable loyalty.
Initially aggressive and quick-tempered, Chutora harbored deep respect for Ben and despised disrespect toward leadership. Years later, when Ben returned with Gin and Cross, Chutora and his brothers failed to recognize their savior and attacked. Chutora battled Cross but ceased fighting upon discovering she was female, refusing to engage further despite her challenges. Recognizing Ben prompted the brothers to join the Ōu Army. Integration softened Chutora’s demeanor, though he retained impulsive reactions in conflicts.
During the Akakabuto campaign, Chutora supported the effort. He accompanied Gin to Shikoku to recruit fighters, where he and Kurotora became hostages of Sniper's group. Gin’s victory over Sniper secured their release and won Bill’s allegiance for the army. In the final clash with Akakabuto, Chutora witnessed Akatora’s death and fought ferociously. He survived, remaining in the Ōu Mountains.
In the Wolf arc, Chutora aided the search for the kidnapped Cross and her puppies. Ordered to retreat from the Palace of Reima, he summoned reinforcements from the Mutsu Generals, Moss, and Hakurō. He later battled Gaia’s soldiers in Hokkaido before returning to Ōu.
Chutora is absent in *Ginga Densetsu Weed*, confirmed deceased in the interim period between that series and *Ginga Nagareboshi Gin*, with his death circumstances unspecified. He fathered four sons—Shōji, Buru, Dodo, and Shigure—raised by Kurotora. These sons later enlisted in the Ōu Army during *Weed*.
Chutora features as a protagonist in the *Ginga Nagareboshi Gin Shin Gaiden* stories, specifically *Kai No San Kyōdai*, alongside his brothers, exploring their early dynamics and backgrounds.
