Arbeo Pippiniden mentored Chronicle Asher during their shared time in military school. Later commanding the Tomliat squadron, he arrived on Earth early in the conflict and reunited with Chronicle. As squadron leader, Arbeo spearheaded multiple attacks targeting the Victory Gundam, though these operations consistently failed to destroy or capture the mobile suit. His tactical approach demonstrated greater competence than earlier Zanscare commanders, exemplified by his plan to ambush the Victory Gundam near an abandoned city, luring it into a vulnerable position.

Following his Earth campaign, Arbeo assumed command of a segment within the Motorad fleet as it traveled towards Earth. He encountered League Militaire forces again shortly after their return to space. During a subsequent engagement, Arbeo piloted the Birknau mobile armor against the League Militaire. In the midst of battle, his subordinate Lupe Cineau collided her damaged Bruckeng mobile suit directly into the Birknau. This impact triggered the destruction of both mobile suits, killing Arbeo and Lupe.
