Description
Shōko Ōgi, alongside her twin sister Maiko, belongs to the 38th generation of the hereditary Ōgi family exorcists, protectors of Japan from supernatural threats under the deity Karura's patronage. The twins inherit distinct spiritual legacies: Shōko wields the Scroll of Heaven, granting her the power to perceive and sense spiritual forces, including malevolent spirits. This ability complements Maiko's ownership of the Scroll of Earth, focused on banishing spirits.

Shōko possesses a calm, intelligent, and observant nature, often acting as the level-headed counterpart to her more energetic and physically adept sister. She maintains a composed demeanor when confronting supernatural dangers. She has black hair and is known by the nickname "Shii-chan," used by Maiko.

Their grandmother, Oumi Ōgi, leads the family, offering guidance and support despite her official retirement from active duty. Shōko and Maiko operate undercover as transfer students while investigating and combating supernatural entities. They collaborate with allies including Tsukasa Kenmochi, an onmyōji descended from Abe no Seimei; Chikae Ikeda, a fellow student with spiritual abilities who becomes Kenmochi's apprentice; Nishikiori, a government agent coordinating their missions; and Wani, an onryō spirit from the Nara period who aids them.

Shōko's role within the team centers on detection and strategic assessment, leveraging her sensory abilities. She participates in critical missions against supernatural threats, such as confronting a priest seeking dominion by unleashing sealed spirits in Nara. Her actions uphold the Ōgi family's legacy of safeguarding Japan from occult dangers.
