Dino Tyranno leads the Dino Knights, prehistoric beings transformed by Earth to combat the life-draining Dragozaur aliens. His formidable Tyrannosaurus rex form clashed with Dragozaur commander Gigano Dragon in a rivalry ignited 65 million years ago. Victorious but spent, Tyranno and his knights fossilized until the Dragozaurs' modern return, when human boy Kaito reawakened them. Tyranno promptly tasked Kaito with finding the essential Dino Daggers, artifacts enabling the knights' transformation via the command "Dino Power, Energize!".

Initially wielding the Tyranno Silver Sword, Tyranno relied not only on strength but also on the counsel of Dino Brachio, his Brachiosaurus-formed advisor and second-in-command. A pivotal moment came when Dragozaur sorcerer Dark Dragon defeated him, casting him into an active volcano. Revitalized by legendary energy from Dino Rhamph, Tyranno emerged as the enhanced Ultimate Dino Knight. This evolution granted him the mightier Tyranno Mega Blade Broad Sword and his signature "Fire Flame Strike" attack.

Tyranno fiercely protected his human allies, especially Kaito, decisively intervening when Gigano Dragon threatened the boy. He also commanded the specialized Dino Weapons – Dino Pachy (sword), Dino Arch (shield), and Dino Kenty (drill) – who augmented the knights' combat power. After the ultimate defeat of Dragozaur leader Diamond Ryugu and the alien threat's departure, Earth no longer required their protection. With their purpose fulfilled, Tyranno and the Dino Knights returned to their fossilized state.
