Uzura is a toddler-like puppet born from the unburned remnants of Edel after Edel's sacrificial destruction in a fire. She was crafted by Charon, the adoptive father of Fakir and Mytho, within the main storyline of the anime.
Uzura speaks with a distinctive pattern, frequently ending sentences with "zura." She exhibits intense curiosity, especially about love and animal anatomy, particularly tails. This curiosity leads her to inspect Ahiru's undergarments upon their first meeting, an act which inadvertently causes Ahiru to revert to her duck form.
Her key role involves triggering Ahiru's transformations between duck and human forms by splashing water on her, often resulting in unintended complications involving Fakir and Ahiru. Despite being mechanical, Uzura forms genuine friendships and considers Ahiru an important companion.
Later, Uzura gains deeper awareness of her existence. She locates a story-driving mechanism and reverses its gears, causing narrative regression. During this event, she encounters Edel's spirit, who reveals Uzura's true nature as a puppet—a revelation that fundamentally alters her self-perception. She subsequently assists Ahiru in communicating with Edel's spirit and guides the protagonists to Drosselmeyer's machine during the climax.
Uzura departs the story alongside Drosselmeyer in the finale to seek new narratives elsewhere. Her name translates to "quail" in Japanese, reflecting an avian thematic association.
Uzura appears solely within the anime's continuity and does not feature in any manga adaptations or spin-off media related to the series.
