Description
B.B., later upgraded to Max-B, operates as a Predacon warrior in Galvatron's forces. Initially partnered with Starscream in a Combatron jet duo, he enforces physically through immense firepower, his intellect limited. Psychological trauma from a Maximal prison "re-education center" before the Pax Cybertronia restricts his vocabulary almost entirely to "Roger," causing him to retreat inward. His loyalty to Starscream solidified when Starscream included him in an escape from that facility.

His primary alternate modes are a stealth bomber and a tank, both heavily armed with missiles. In bomber mode, he combines with Starscream's jet form to create the enhanced aerial attack configuration "Formation Scream." B.B. actively participates in Starscream's schemes to gain favor with Galvatron and later Megastorm (Galvatron's brother), involving sabotage, ambushes, and attempts to eliminate rivals like the Autorollers or enemy Maximals. These missions often feature carpet-bombing targets or creating diversionary smokescreens.

During the conflict on Gaia, exposure to unstable Angolmois Energy upgraded him into the Cyborg Beast Max-B. This amplified his strength, endurance, and destructive capabilities, making him a more ferocious warrior who takes pleasure in destruction. His intelligence remained unchanged, and his expressive capacity only slightly expanded to include "Max." His alternate mode shifted to a cyborg German Shepherd/wolf, gaining a spring-loaded trapping claw, a back-mounted missile launcher, and a tail modified into a mace weapon usable in both modes. His robot mode retained its thick, powerful build but incorporated new mechanical detailing and a head sculpt featuring an additional cybernetic eye. Despite the physical transformation and increased aggression, his unwavering loyalty to Starscream (later Hellscream) endured.

Following his upgrade, Starscream and Max-B fell into a trap set by Gigastorm (the upgraded Megastorm) involving explosives. After their defeat, Gigastorm callously detonated the bombs, blasting them into raw Angolmois Energy. This second exposure further solidified Max-B's cyborg beast form and intensified his ferocity. He continued fighting alongside Hellscream against the Maximals, participating in the final battle aboard Galvatron's battleship Nemesis. When the Nemesis was destroyed by Galvatron, Max-B was sent floating helplessly into space with the remaining Predacons. After Unicron's later defeat, he and the other exiled Predacons were eventually invited back to Cybertron to aid rebuilding.

In other media, he makes a brief appearance in the *Beast Wars II* manga without elaborated narrative details. Within IDW Publishing's *Beast Wars* comics, his loyalty to Hellscream led him to become an acolyte of the chaos-bringer Shokaract; he and the other acolytes were defeated by Ravage. A separate comic series features another incarnation of Max-B as a member of the mercenary group "Hellhounds," retaining his limited vocabulary and propensity for overwhelming missile-based destruction to eliminate evidence, though this appears distinct.
