Description
Black Bomb, also known as Kurobon, begins as White Bomberman's rival but shifts allegiance to become a strategic ally. Initially leading his own group of Bombermen independently, he eventually joins the protagonists to combat greater threats. He consistently exhibits a stoic, reserved demeanor, often appearing aloof even during cooperation.
In *Bakugaiden*, he pilots distinct battle suits. His first, Black Gattlinger, wields rapid-fire "Gatling Shot" weaponry but is destroyed facing stronger opponents. He later commands Black Cluster, equipped with a cockpit system and "Cluster Cannon" attacks; this suit is destroyed by the Dark Prince's Blizzard Dragon. His final and most advanced suit, Black Devaster, features dual B-Da barrels, transforms into a dragon for flight, and combines with other suits to form the Saint Dragon.
A key element of his background is his familial tie to the antagonist Dark Prince (Jack), his twin brother, adding complexity to his allegiances and motivations in the conflict against Dark Koutei. Black Bomb demonstrates perceptiveness by identifying Shuringe's disguised persona, Purple, while other protagonists remain unaware.
His character development includes a documented Heel–Face Turn in the third series, cementing his place within the heroic team. Later arcs feature a rivalry with the high-ranking antagonist Slinger, who specifically targets him. Despite integration into the team, he maintains emotional distance, interacting minimally with other protagonists outside combat. His visual design consistently incorporates distinctive black shoulder pads, "spats" (boot coverings) across all armor iterations, and a signature cape.
