Description
Onpu Segawa is a famous child idol star, skilled in acting, singing, and modeling. Initially a rival witch apprentice under Majoruka, she employs forbidden magic to manipulate memories and protect her secret. Her early demeanor is manipulative and self-serving, building emotional walls to avoid real connections. This shifts after transferring to Misora Elementary School and meeting Doremi Harukaze, Hazuki Fujiwara, and Aiko Senoo. Though her initial friendship is superficial, Doremi's persistent warmth gradually breaks down her defenses.

A critical turning point comes when Onpu overuses forbidden magic to shield the group, falling into a coma. Her friends sacrifice their own magic to save her, leading to her true acceptance into their circle. She officially joins as a core member in *Ojamajo Doremi Sharp*, helping raise the magical infant Hana. Here, she displays natural caregiving instincts, often singing Hana to sleep and demonstrating stern devotion, like forcing herself to eat disliked foods to encourage Hana's healthy habits.

Her background reveals a defiant motivation: she became an idol to counter critics who mocked her mother, a former child star. Early curiosity and playfulness defined her childhood, but industry pressures fostered loneliness and self-doubt. She habitually hides stress and fatigue from her demanding schedule, sometimes withdrawing emotionally or seeming distant when overwhelmed. Despite her fame, she values genuine sincerity over superficial praise and harbors fears of being replaced.

Her relationships deepen across subsequent seasons. She shares a playful bond with Doremi, crediting her for preventing her from becoming "cold and mean." With Hazuki, she finds mutual understanding as level-headed peers. Aiko frequently partners with her, their shared maturity and directness evident; Aiko is the first to directly confront Onpu about the forbidden magic. Momoko Asuka initially offends her with blunt critiques, but they reconcile, forming a close friendship where Momoko later cites Onpu as key to her return as a witch apprentice. She mentors the shy actress Karen, using magic to boost her confidence and secure her a major role, reflecting her supportive nature.

As a witch apprentice, Onpu excels academically and magically, earning the "genius witch apprentice" title by skipping multiple exams. Her transformation phrase is "Pretty Witch Onpu-cchi!". Her spells include "Pururun Purun Famifami Faa!" for general magic and "Pururun Purun, Suzuyaka ni!" for Magical Stage performances. Her fairy companion is Roro, and her crystal ball is a purple droplet. She learns to read the Witch World's writing system and speaks English and Mandarin.

In later arcs, she assists in resolving conflicts like Wizard World tensions and Majo Tourbillon's curses. Her dedication is clear when she risks her health for Hana's well-being. By the series' end, she chooses not to become a full witch to stay in the human world, valuing her personal growth and friendships over permanent magic, marking her journey from isolation to embracing true connections.
