Description
Haruka Harukaze, a woman with a lightly tanned complexion, brown eyes, and short, ruffled brown hair featuring a distinctive tented section on her bangs, balances motherhood with her own history. Her past includes aspirations as a professional pianist, cut short by a hand injury during her pregnancy with her eldest daughter, Doremi. This loss triggered profound grief and suicidal thoughts, though Doremi's birth shifted her focus firmly to her family. She later redirected her musical passion into teaching piano, though her initial intense pressure on Doremi led to a recital disaster, prompting her to adopt a more cautious approach with her younger daughter, Pop.

Managing a middle-class household, Haruka exhibits a caring nature tempered by occasional sternness, emphasizing responsibility and diligence in her children's studies and chores. Her marriage to Keisuke involves frequent arguments, often sparked by his avoidance of household duties in favor of fishing, though mutual affection persists. She extends her maternal instincts beyond her family, offering guidance and support to Aiko Senoo.

Haruka's character reveals complexity beyond a simple parental figure. Early tendencies as a stage mom surfaced with Doremi's piano lessons, but she demonstrates capacity for reflection and adjustment. She consistently champions her daughters' well-being, endorsing Doremi's continued involvement at the transformed Maho-Do sweets shop for its positive impact and later advising Doremi on childcare during Hana's upbringing. Typically dressed in an apricot buttoned top over a white shirt or tank top, indigo leggings or pants, and dull mauve flats, her full name, Haruka Harukaze, presents a repetitive structure.
